Is there Chinese CXMT memory in your new laptop?

Acer, Asus and HP have started using limited numbers of CXMT memory chips in notebooks, according to Nikkei reporting relayed by Semafor on August 5, 2026 (Semafor).

Those units are reported for non-US markets, so European buyers are the ones who may receive them (Tom's Hardware).

You can read the memory maker off a Windows or Linux machine in one command, though soldered laptop memory often reports nothing useful.
