Google pulls all remaining Manifest V2 extensions from the Chrome Web Store on August 31, 2026. Copies already installed on Chrome 138 or earlier stay put, but they can no longer update.
uBlock Origin stopped updating its Facebook ad filters on August 10, 2026, and that change hits Firefox and Brave users too.
Firefox still ships the full extension, and Brave blocks ads in the browser itself, so both are real swaps for Chrome.
