Kubernetes 1.34 gets its last upstream support on October 27, 2026. EKS standard support ends December 2, AKS on November 30, and GKE on January 25, 2027.
EKS extended support costs $0.60 per cluster per hour against $0.10 in standard support. That is an extra $4,380 per cluster per year.
Upgrade one minor version at a time. Target 1.36, which needs two hops, not 1.35, which leaves you facing another end-of-life date in February 2027.
