PostgreSQL 19 removes RADIUS authentication, forces `standard_conforming_strings` on, and turns `jit` off by default.
`pg_upgrade` refuses clusters that have `btree_gist` indexes on `inet` or `cidr` columns, or line breaks in database, role or tablespace names.
If you run PostgreSQL 14, upgrade before its final release on November 12, 2026, and pick 17 or 18, because 19 will not be a safe target yet.
