The EU AI Act's chatbot transparency duties in Article 50 have applied since 2 August 2026, and the Digital Omnibus did not delay them.
The Omnibus, Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, delayed only high-risk rules, to 2 December 2027 and 2 August 2028, plus a grace period for marking older generative systems.
Article 50 and other transparency breaches can bring fines up to €15 million or 3% of worldwide annual turnover, whichever is higher, according to Goodwin.
