The AutoGen README says Microsoft is not providing bug fixes, security fixes, new features or support, so production code should move to Microsoft Agent Framework.
In our port, an Agent forgot history without a session (1 message seen against 4 in AutoGen), made 2 model calls per tool turn against 1, and returned a termination notice instead of the transcript.
pip install agent-framework pulled 699 MB and 198 packages, while the core and orchestrations packages took 36 MB, so install the core package plus only the connector you use.
